Practical IT help for coastal businesses

From a printer that won’t cooperate to a network that needs rethinking, Coastwise IT helps Tillamook County businesses get their technology working, with plain-language explanations along the way.

Business computers and devices

Keep the machines your business depends on running, and get new ones ready without the hassle.

  • Troubleshooting business computers and common software problems
  • Setting up replacement computers and new employee workstations
  • Moving files and settings from an old computer to a new one
  • Updates and approved upgrades
  • Printers, scanners and shared devices that won’t connect

Many problems can be handled remotely; some need a visit. We’ll tell you which up front. This is business technology help, not a walk-in repair counter or component-level repair.

Wi-Fi and small business networks

Reliable connections for the front counter, the back office and your guests.

  • Diagnosing unreliable Wi-Fi, dead spots and slow connections
  • Router, firewall, access point and switch setup
  • A separate guest network for customers
  • Tidying up and documenting how your network is put together
  • Working with your internet provider when the problem is on their end

Each job is scoped after we understand your space. Permanent cable runs, electrical work and larger multi-building networks are quoted separately or referred to an installer.

Business email and domains

Professional email at your own domain that works on every device.

  • Setting up email at your business domain
  • Adding mailboxes and connecting phones and computers
  • Fixing domain and DNS settings that cause email or website problems
  • Planning a move from an old email provider
  • Making clear which accounts you own and who pays for what

Common platforms include Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace. We’ll confirm what fits your business before anything changes.

Backups and practical security

Sensible protections and a plan for getting your files back if something goes wrong.

  • Reviewing how (and whether) your important files are backed up
  • Setting up agreed backup tools and testing a restore
  • Writing down the steps to recover
  • Multifactor sign-in and password manager setup
  • Cleaning up old accounts and keeping devices updated

These are practical safeguards and preparation, not a guarantee against every incident, a compliance certification or a monitoring service.

Ongoing business IT help

A familiar contact for changes, questions and troubleshooting as your business grows.

  • One local person who already knows your setup
  • Help when you add staff, devices or locations
  • Clear notes on what’s been changed and why

Ongoing arrangements are set up individually, with what’s included spelled out in writing.

Something more specific?

Some projects don’t fit a standard menu. These are assessed one at a time, so ask and we’ll tell you honestly whether it’s a good fit.

  • Small custom tools and dashboards
  • Connecting the apps your business already uses
  • Server and network storage (NAS) setup
  • Streamlining repetitive office tasks
Questions

IT support questions

Can you help remotely?

Often, yes. Many software, email and account problems can be fixed remotely once you’ve granted access through a secure process. Hardware and network problems usually need a visit.

Should I send passwords in the contact form?

No. Please don’t include passwords or sensitive information in the form. If a job needs account access, we’ll arrange it securely once the work begins.

What happens on the first visit or call?

We start by understanding the problem. Any initial investigation is kept separate from additional work it uncovers, so you can decide on next steps before anything more is done.

Need a hand with your IT?

Whether it’s a stubborn Wi-Fi problem or a website that needs a fresh start, start with a short note. We’ll talk it through in plain language and give you a clear scope before any paid work begins.
